Petite Fashion Challenge #12: Night to day

It's that time again! :) I love Petite Fashion challenges because it helps me be a little more creative with my outfits. This month's PFC is hosted by Khatu of I am khatu.

Here's the challenge: "Restyle a glamorous look that you would typically wear for a night-out-on-the-town into daytime casual wear. Easy right? Bonus points if you can restyle it for work!"

Let me start by saying that this challenge had me realize that I hardly go out at night to get the chance to dress up! So creating these looks took quite a bit of thought. Also, when dressing up for going out/fancy occasions, I try to keep my outfits very ladylike and sophisticated, just because it's out of the ordinary for "going out" outfits. (In Arizona... hardly anyone knows how to dress compared to the East Coast!). So let's begin!

First we start off the the "night on the town" outfit, which includes two of my favorite pieces...

I couldn't make up my mind with the shoes. I think the red pumps are more appropriate for a fun holiday party, while the nude pumps would work for a more sophisticated occasion. I'm not very good at putting together going-out outfits, but I would definitely wear this to a party or a get together with friends. And of course, for the cooler months I'd add some tights and maybe layer a cardigan.

And to switch it up for day time...

Essentially, all I did was keep the sequin skirt and tuck in a sheer tee! I love how casual this outfit is. Even for a sequin skirt, it seems surprisingly subtle and just right for day time. Bare legs and sandals have me daydreaming about spring time already! :)

Night:
Blouse: Gap (old)
Skirt: J. Crew factory (old now!)
Red pumps: Gianni Binni (old)
Nude Pumps: Steve Madden Ulltra in blush

Day:
Skirt: J. Crew factory
Top: Hollister Co. (so old)
Sandals: Gap (old)
Pearls: Taken from my grandma's jewelry box

I hope this post will suffice! :) I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else has come up with for this PFC!

  7. Adorable looks! Personally I love the red pumps with the first look - that pop of color is just the right addition to make the look really "glam".

  13. I somehow missed your post right after the PFC! Glad I found it now. I love the sequin skirt with your bow blouse--so lovely and classic. I think you can do either nude or red pumps and look fabulous and festive. I love how the skirt transitions seamlessly from "evening out" to "running errands." Great job on this challenge!
