After all, that's what this blog is all about, right?
This dress would be the perfect example. From the front, it looks like a classic sheath... but the back has a modern edge to it-- a cutout.
Now, this dress caught my eye at first because of the front's classic silhouette (I am immediately attracted to any sheath or shift dresses), but when I took a better look at it, I was surprised to see the back. But I decided to go for it anyway. And I loved it.
My back did feel a bit chilly though. :)

Dress: Marshall's (Similarly cute)
Shoes: Marshall's (Same, but more expensive)
Bag: H&M (old)
Necklace: Baublebar (old, invite link here)
People are always getting on me for "dressing up" on the weekends. This small town of mine has no style. Sigh.
Megan, I love that dress! The cutout gives it a little bit of sexy, but not too much. What a great find!
ReplyDeleteSo cute, particularly with the striped shoes. :)
ReplyDeleteLove your dress... So chic but the back is super sexy!
ReplyDeleteI totally get what you're saying about being in a small town with no style. I grew up in a town of 1500. While everyone read Tiger Beat, I read Vogue and Marie Claire. My sister even told me last week that I was always different. I left my small town and never looked back. But, I still visit because that's where my family lives.
ReplyDeleteStep out on faith and take the leap to a big city. Growing up in a small town doesn't mean that you have to stay there. Think of all the experiences that you can have. Best thing about family is that you can always go back home if you don't like it.
Sorry to be so long winded. Love that dress, and the back is my favorite part. Very cool and sexy without being trashy.
I'm definitely looking to take the leap and head to the big city. I just need to figure out what I'll do there!
DeleteThis small town is just too small for my big city aspirations. And thank you for the advice. :) I love comments from the heart!
Woo, you go girl! Livin' on the edge.

ReplyDeleteawww I live in the city...and I still get weird looks when I am "over dressed". This is a great dress...I would even try to mix in some pink with it for fun. How small is your town? do you plan to move to a city anytime soon?
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! I'm happy about getting to move from here in November! Great job girl. I love your fashion!
