If you're ever stuck in a rut while choosing an outfit, you can't go wrong with the classics. Whenever I feel unmotivated in the morning to put something special together, I always reach for a black dress, cardigan, and belt-- then add a snazzy pair of shoes and pearls to finish the look. And there ya go, instant polish. (Plus, it works in any season for any weather, with minor adjustments!)

If you remember from quite a while ago, I shared on Twitter about how one day, I would own something from Kate Spade. I've been stalking their website forever, but just couldn't see myself spending $300+ on one dress or pair of shoes.

However, since starting Chic for a Week and purchasing the shoes to rent out (I try them all out), I've realized that sometimes its okay to invest in a nice pair of shoes, for comfort and quality.
[[ These Kate Spades aren't yet available on Chic for a Week, but will be soon, if anyone is interested (Please let me know if you are!)]]
I highly recommend that if you have a pair of shoes that you love (nude or black pumps, flats you constantly wear, etc) that you consider investing in a quality pair. They last for years and are ten times more comfy. However, it's important to remember that just because something is expensive, doesn't mean it's high quality. Try on various styles before making a decision, and check to see what material they're made of. Classic styles are more worthy of investments, so its best to stick to that. In this case, these shoes are surprisingly so versatile, and add a little quirkiness to a classic outfit. I am very happy with these shoes!

If you're interested in renting a pair of designer shoes, please visit Chic for a Week!
Also, my Winter beauty bag giveaway is now CLOSED and the winner will be announced on Wednesday! Thank you to all who entered, and stay tuned for the next one! :)

Yep, can't go wrong with the classics. Those shoes are perfect. Classic and feminine to perfection. I remember seeing them on Jenny from Crazy Style Love for the first time.

Thanks Lauren! :)
DeleteBeautiful look! You can never go wrong with a LBD and pearls in my book. Those pumps are stunning, and I'm sure you will get your money's worth out of them. Sometimes quality is totally the way to go!

For being so "trendy", they work with so many different outfits! So glad I bought 'em :) Thanks Libby!
DeleteI've seen those Kate shoes around, and I LOVE them. Although I don't think I would rent them, just because I don't have much occasion for them while I'm in school. I'm glad you took the leap and bought them though! And I'm diggin' the indoor photos...something different!
ReplyDeleteSarah's Real Life
I can totally understand that there aren't a lot of places to wear them. I wear them to work and they're a big hit! But anywhere else... I dunno.
DeleteAnd thank you, Sarah! I'm trying something different with the pics now :)
Love those shoes, and you can never go wrong with an LBD!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jess! :)
Deletewhat a wonderful fun investment pair of shoes! tks for highlight that cost doesn't always equal quality!
ReplyDeleteExactly! A lot of people get caught up in the price of things and overlook the quality. I've found that Ann Taylor Perfect Pumps are SO comfy, and less expensive than designer shoes. You really have to pay attention to it!
Deletethanks Lisa :)
Those shoes are so beautiful! Good idea to invest some good shoes!
ReplyDeleteThanks, S! It's my third investment pair... It's becoming somewhat of an obsession, but I'm keeping it under control! But we all need some good shoes for work, you know ? :)
DeleteOh, my goodness. Those shoes are killing me--so gorgeous! I think they're the perfect work shoe. I love wearing pieces that are classic and conservative, but with a twist, and these definitely fit the bill.
ReplyDeleteloving those heels on you! xo

Great shoes I have been seeing pointed toe shoes at stores lately...the trend is back...:) I stand up for work all day so I usually buy "grandma" heels...which means heels with major cushioning!
ReplyDeleteWow! Those shoes are amazing!

I love your blog! I also am loving the idea of renting from chic for a week. However, I am a size 10 shoe and was very bummed that you do not offer this size. Is this something you may do in the future? I would be very interested!

ReplyDeleteHi Amanda!
DeleteWe are definitely planning to have size 10 available in the future, however, with limited start up funding at the moment, we only offer the few sizes right now. Please stay tuned to updates! We are growing everyday :)
Thanks!!
