Of course, we all have our definitions of man-repelling outfits. When I think of it, I look at what runway models wear on the catwalk. Those outfits that just seem so impractical... and who actually wears those outfits in public in the first place? Maybe I haven't been around much.
Anyway, this outfit is what Nick considers man repelling (Bright green polka dots, burgundy ankle pants AND heels?? Oh my...)This ensemble does stray a bit from my usual style, but we all want to try something different once in a while, right?
In honor of Fashion Week, I present you with my most man repelling outfit.

I was so excited to find these burgundy ankle pants from H&M and they even looked great in the fitting room. But after a full day of wear, they transform into a wrinkly mess. And I'm not even sure if the length is flattering. Aren't they supposed to hit at or above the ankle bone? This is why I always have trouble with pants.

This is my latest rental from Bag Borrow or Steal, and I believe they stopped carrying Tory Burch shortly after I received this (I can't find it anywhere on the site!). This is the TB Robinson tote, and after carrying this around for a week, I have decided that a Robinson may be my first investment bag...

Shirt: Old Navy, sz S (Sold out online, try in-store!)(Similar from J. Crew)
Pants: H&M (similar)
Shoes: Ann Taylor Perfect Pumps, sz 7.5
Belt: Target
Bag: Rented via Bag Borrow or Steal (Invite here)
I LOVE THIS! Mike is actually my fashion barometer - if he absolutely hates something, I know it will be a hit on the blog. ;) This color combo really is fabulous and those pants are perfect for fall - too bad they didn't hold up better throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I have no idea why guys dislike the chicest outfits.... Yet another mystery I will probably never solve. I have some similar pants that hit at a very awkward length. I usually cuff them once or twice because they get on my nerves, but yours look fine!

I love seeing you take fashion risks! I think this outfit is fun (and also a bit Christmasy). Maybe you should have Nick go to THE Man Repeller's blog and then he'll see how lucky he is to have you!

hahaha, I've already shown him THE Man Repeller's blog and he is very fortunate! :) He's just not used to me straying away from my usual, ya know? He's a classic prep at heart. :)
Deletei LOVEEE this. i don't think it's man repelling at all! you look fab!!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I'm happy to see all the positive feedback! :)
DeleteYou should maybe repel some men more often because you look great! And I do see your classic, feminine style shine through.

Lol, I like how heels are on the list of man-repellers. Once I heard a girl say her boyfriend doesn't like heels because they make her walk slowly!
ReplyDeleteCute post! :) Love that TB tote - too bad BBOS won't be carrying them anymore :(
ReplyDeleteThat outfit is so cute. I would understand why your BF thinks man repelling though... I like your outfit and you did good job, but color combo is difficult to pull off.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and I am really enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteI can highly recommend the TB Robinson Tote as a full purchase for you. I have it (in the camel/brown) and it is a GREAT bag!
