All I wanted to do was join the amazing community of bloggers which I had been following for months prior. You see, style bloggers seem to understand each other. They could say, "Hey, it's alright that you spent over $100 on a bag or a pair of shoes." They understood your constant online "window" shopping, and the excitement you get when you find out about a great sale. They understand the feeling of finding that perfect piece.
The community of style bloggers understands you in ways that your friends in real life don't.
And that is why Long Live Classy was born.

I began with an introduction. And the next day, September 1, 2011, my first ever outfit post went up. I had zero readers for the longest time, but I kept going. Over time, I connected with so many other bloggers and made friends that understood me.
My life has changed, all because of this blog.
Looking back on the past year, I have grown so much. My content has changed and my photos have improved. I've developed a following of readers whom I've never met, but so dearly love. Without you all, I would not be where I am today. And I cannot thank you all ENOUGH for reading my blog and interacting with me. You all are truly a blessing in my life.
This blog has taught me the importance of hard work, patience, and consistency. It has reminded me to never give up on your dreams, no matter what they are. I've had multiple instances where I felt like giving up-- like this blog was going nowhere and I was hopeless. Never let those times get the best of you. You have to experience the tough times to really appreciate the good ones.
Storms don't last forever and there is sunshine right around the corner.
So, my dear friends, I want to inspire you all to dream. Dream big and work hard to make it happen. Have patience. Stay consistent. Constantly learn and be open to change and improvement. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, but learn from them. That is the only way you will grow.
Some people may say, "Its just a blog, what are you excited about?". What they don't know is that blogs can open up a whole new window of opportunities, friendships, and even full-time jobs. Its way to share and live your passion. The possibilities are endless.
I know its only been a year and I know I still have a long way to go, but sometimes I pause and remember where I was on September 1, 2011. I remember how far I've come since that first blog post. How I went from no readers-- to more than I can count. And with that, I feel content.
Thank you all SO much for what you have given me.

Happy 1 year anniversary!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the milestone! Don't listen to those naysayers - Long Live Classy is totally something to be proud of. And of all the blogs on my Bloglovin' feed, I don't think any other is run by someone younger than mid-20s. The fact that yours looks at least as professional (if not more so) than those old ladies like me is really saying something ;)
