Peplum Works for Work

Please excuse the burnt orange color of my hair. Note to self: Never color your hair with anything that says "warm golden brown". The "warm" colors are pure orange and red. Thank goodness its only semi-permanent.

Dress: Target, sz XS (Fits perfectly)
Shoes: Target (See my review)
Belt: Target (Similar)
Bag: Dorothy Perkins (Similar)

Like most people, I don't particularly like wearing black in the Summer months; instead saving it for Fall and Winter. Now that the temps are dropping and all the rich colors are making their debut, it just feels right that black is making a comeback in my wardrobe.

This is my third outfit post in a row that incorporates black into an outfit! Some people see black as too drab and basic (And I know I've said that navy is the new black), but when worn right, black can be so chic.

...Especially when its a peplum dress. I felt a bit intimidated to wear anything peplum to work, but this dress is just right. It fits perfectly, looks super chic, and can be accessorized like any other LBD. Best of all, you can get it at Target. (The only downside is that its unlined-- Just wear a cami and spanx underneath and you're all set).

If you pick out the right pieces at the right time, you can essentially complete your whole work wardrobe at Target. They're really stepping up their game!

  1. I've seen that dress at Target...it looks much better on a person than it did hanging there! You make it look super classy, as usual.

    1. Necklace is an old find from Bauble Bar, and watch is from Fossil! I definitely recommend Bauble Bar for decent costume jewelry. And the watch is still available online and where ever they sell Fossil. I bought mine at Dillards! :)

  3. I think peplum makes good office attire - feminine, elegant without being overpoweringly sexy

  4. I just bought this dress today! It's on sale through next Saturday. I love the way you styled it, but I have a long day tomorrow so...I am going with leopard calf hair flats and my bubble necklace. Love your style!
