September's Featured Blogger: Delusions of Grandeur

How is it almost October already?!? Fall and Winter are coming at us at what seems like a faster pace, and soon we'll be wishing for Summer again. ;) September's Featured Blogger is Bonnie from Delusions of Grandeur (formerly known as Mini Me Style)! She's here to tell us a little about herself and her blog, as well as show us how to take three simple pieces well into Fall and Winter. :) Thanks for sharing, Bonnie!

Hello, Long Live Classy readers!  As a fellow Arizona girl, I was thrilled to find Megan’s
blog  (we’re few and far between
out here) and am honored to have the opportunity to guest post this week.

My name is Bonnie, and I blog over at Delusions of Grandeur.  As a third year Ph.D. student, I had literally lived in yoga and workout gear for years, but as a
professor-in-training I knew I needed to get my wardrobe act together. My blog
is my conscious effort to develop my personal style while staying within my
grad stipend budget.

While it’s hardly the autumn the rest of the United States
experiences, temperatures here are finally NOT in the 100’s!  In celebration, I decided to share how
to take three summer wardrobe staples and transition them into fall.

Little white tee:
I took a white, ruffled henley from Old Navy and added a cardigan (Target), skirt (Old Navy), boots (Aerosoles) and collar (ASOS).  The layering and boots make it appropriate for cooler temperatures, and the collar necklace is an easy, inexpensive way to update any t-shirt in your wardrobe. I bought this necklace about a year ago, but have seen some very cute options recently at H&M.

Striped tee:

Print mixing has been all the rage recently, and by combining patterns and textures it is easy to take a comfy, striped tee into fall.  I paired mine with a flowered scarf from Target, a necklace and cardigan from ModCloth, a belt from F21, and a pleated skirt I found at a local thrift shop.  If something like this is too much color for you, it would be easy to switch out the skirt for a pair of dark skinny jeans.

White blazer:

Luckily for us the "no white after Labor Day" rule has flown out the window, and a white blazer can easily be incorporated into your fall line up. I paired white on white and layered a polka dot, Old Navy sweater under my H&M blazer, and added dark skinnies (Gap) and a scarf (H&M) in a bordeaux shade. Bordeaux is everywhere this fall and you can easily add splashes of it with accessories - shoes, a bag, a scarf, etc.

Thank you for reading, and feel free to swing by any time
and say “hi”!   In addition to
regular OOTD postings, I host “Academically Inclined”, which is a series
highlighting women working in academia and their style, and a Petite Fashion Bloggers series (see Megan here!).

Have a wonderful week, and thank you for having me, Megan!
