I decided to recreate this look seen on Lauren Conrad, one of my fave style icons! It's party-ready but still classy. I actually wore this outfit to work on Friday (for half a day w/ the pumps), but switched out to my TB flats instead. However! I wanted to show you all a new arrival at Banana Republic-- The Kirsten Suede Platform Pump.

A pair of gray pumps has been on my want list since last Winter, but I just couldn't find the perfect pair. I originally hoped to find Ann Taylor Perfect Pumps in gray suede (seen on Jean here, from a year ago), but sadly, AT never brought them back. I was wooed by BR's new ads for their Fall collection, and decided to give it a try. I had never tried shoes from Banana Republic before, but I wasn't too nervous knowing that these were real leather.

BR shoes

Overall, I am very pleased with them, and the platform makes them as comfy as AT pumps. However, they are definitely more "sturdy" as compared to the flexibility Perfect Pumps provide, but I don't mind it. They run TTS.

The pumps comes in three colors-- gray, teal, and black-- However, note that only the gray pair has a suede covered heel, while the others have a wooden stacked heel. This feature can sometimes make shoes look "cheap", but it often isn't a deal breaker for most of us.

  2. Thanks for the review on the shoes. I've been on the watch for perfect pumps (be they the "at perfect pump" or not) and since I love BR, I may have to give these a look.

  3. I'm pretty sure that's the same skirt I have! It's navy with pockets, right? I got it on major sale also, and it was totally an impulse buy but I wore it so many times over the summer! You will not believe how versatile it is. Casual, work, evening, whenever!

  8. Lovely heels with a slight platform. I dunno, I rather liked the wood-stacked look. That's just me though.

  10. I just discovered your blog. Really like it. I absolutely adore the polka dot kate spade heels. I'm hoping by some miracle they go on sale. Can't justify the price tag? Looking forward to reading more of your blog. A
