What I'm always afraid of when layering is how uncomfortable I feel with all of that bulkiness. Does anyone else have the same problem? I love the look of a sweater over a button up, but it just never feels right. Am I doing something wrong?
Anyway, you all know I love a good LBD, and there's always new ways to spice one up for any season. For Fall, layer a cardigan and belt it, and add tights when it gets chilly in the Winter time. Or, wear a button up blouse underneath!

that's exactly how i feel about layering too! i feel as if everything looks too bulky on me but on other people it looks so chic.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, wow. Major congratulations on the paper feature!!! I love your look here with the button up under the lbd. I'll have to give it a try to see if I feel like I can pull it off.
ReplyDeleteAs far as layering a sweater and a button up... I agree, it's a little hard to get it just right. Once you do it's quite comfortable. I've found that not every button up works well for layering. It almost always takes a little wiggling to get it comfortable.
I have to use a sweater that's a little looser to get it right (which makes sense, as you're putting a whole thick layer underneath! ) That and I've found sometimes the process of putting on the sweater makes the button up (especially in the arms) twist and not sit right on my body, so just making sure I get everything actually ON correctly is important. (Also, putting the shirt inside the sweater first, then pulling them both on over your head, as one unit, works well.)
I'd love to see you feature this look, it's so timeless and great for fall!
Great layering and awesome feature. What a nice setup for your photographs of shoes! Makes all the difference in how they appear online!
ReplyDeleteThis is great! Congrats on being in the newspaper!! So cool.

ReplyDeleteSo cute, and congrats on the article, missy! :)))
ReplyDeleteCongrats again on the article! I agree that sometimes layering can feel bulky and I wish I knew the trick to not make it feel that way. I love the idea of a blouse under a dress. I might have to try it out myself!
